He held up a pudgy hand for silence, even though he was the one doing the talking. I could see the fresh scars on the inside of his wrist from when he'd tried to kill himself with a razor blade earlier that summer. A few days later he swallowed the contents of an economy-sized bottle of Uncle Chubby's children's aspirin, 277 tablets in all.Which is three sentences, but I didn't want to stop at two.

Great teaser!
Oh, I'm disappointed to hear you didn't like The Irregulars. I've been meaning to read it and it was high on my list of book to give my husband -- it sounds like it would be right up his alley. Drat!
Great Teaser, sorry you didn't enjoy it. Here is my Teaser Tuesday:

Feel free to stop by tomorrow for my review and GIVEAWAY of the book and a new ARC, by the same author, next Spring when it is released!
Sincerely,
Emma Michaels
This sounds like a really strange book! Nice teaser. Mine is at The Crowded Leaf.
Poor guy. Sounds sad. Hope its a good mystery!
I've only just begun The Little Giant of Aberdeen County (today's TT) but it is wonderful, so far. As is Cloud Atlas, which I am 75% of the way through. After plodding through some stinkers, I am happily in a good book sweet spot, I think.
This mystery does sound interesting. I'm curious about the person being talked about. My Tuesday Teaser is Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson.
Enjoy your book. Thank you for visiting my teaser.
