Quote of the Day

Modern society is too quick to judge people on their appearances. There is not much you can do about it; it is the way they think; it is the way they are. But maybe this could teach them a lesson, or set an example.

Susan Boyle, quoted in the Washington Post. I think she's set an example for sure.

Just in case you haven't seen and heard her, do go here. Have Kleenex handy.

This has been plastered all over FaceBook... All my colleagues have been loving it... I am sure that no one will agree with what I say here, but I believe that most everyone can sing (yes, there are exceptions); singing is a gift even if the singer is a bit off key. Singing is natural to children, and bred out of a lot of adults in the so-called "developed" nations, unfortunately. Not everyone has the courage (or encouragement) to sing. God Bless Susan Boyle (and all other singing 47 year olds) for having the inner knowing that she can sing, for loving to sing her whole life, for singing at home (and probably also in church), and for having not only the voice, but also the courage, to get up and sing on national television. Bless her for singing and inspiring others to do the same. And may this be the start of something big for her! As Rabindranath Tagore said, "God respects me when I work, but he LOVES me when I SING!"
