California Tea Rooms

It is my duty to direct you to this article in the Chronicle describing five California tea rooms. I believe it will also be my duty to visit these tea rooms and ensure their quality and gentility for you, the Infusion reader. Such is my devotion to your well-being.

Of those five, I've been to Lovejoy's only and it was perfect - exactly what I thought a cozy tea room should be. I felt like Miss Marple was going to walk in any moment.

I see Mother's Day and your birthday as opportunities for sharing.

The Tuck Box can be difficult to get into. Choose your time carefully... unfortunately, this indicates a somewhat less than proper tea time, but don't be inhibited. And you cannot miss having a lovely day in beautiful Carmel (although it has been spoiled by having been utterly boutiquefied, I think,--my dad grew up in the area and my grandparents lived there until they passed away--however, that is merely my own thought on the matter).

Of course, if you REALLY want to treat yourself, save up for a night over at the Cypress Inn.

I suggest this particularly for you BECAUSE it is DORIS DAY'S Hotel, and DOGS ARE WELCOME as GUESTS with their owners!!!!
