From the local cemetery

I was driving by yesterday and saw that the place was filled with flowers. I've never thought of Valentine's day as a day for visiting graves, but I can see how a sunny Sunday Valentine's Day would encourage a visit.

I found this incredibly poignant. Red hearts and flowers as far as the eye could see.

well m'dear.... one can purchase a package deal where your grave is decorated by the cemetery on certain holidays in certain approved materials.... just sayin'. Not quite as romantic....

Our local cemeteries don't have Valentine's Day decorations. Of course we still have a foot or two of snow. I do think it's a sweet idea, even if it may be part of a package.

Well, you learn something every day, is what I have to say.

Package or not, I still think it's a lovely idea, and one I've not seen before. (The package offered by the memorial park that is host to my dad is seasonal, rather than holiday-based.)
