It's a bookshelf...

that turns into a coffin!

No, I am not making this up.
The description says, "These shelves are designed to last you a lifetime." And a bit more, apparently.
Found on the Bookalicio.us blog.
(OK, I confess. I think this is kind of cool, actually.)
Blimey - that would take the denial out of death - every time you reach for a book you'd be reminded
ReplyDeleteOkay --I kinda think that's cool too. Trouble is, you would have to NOT lose the instructions! --maybe stapled to the back of one of the pieces..... that would do.
ReplyDeleteGood news: The original articles specifies that the instructions are on a brass plaque on the bottom shelf - after following them to put the coffin together, your loved ones can turn the plaque over and engrave the reverse side with your name and dates.
ReplyDeleteNew question: If you put yourself in the coffin, where do you put all your books?!
wow, that would save a bundle of $$$$. I kinda like it too. Mom
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about where you'd put the books, too. Maybe you could rest the coffin on stacks of books for the viewing.
ReplyDeleteI guess this is a way for bibliophiles to try to imitate the Ancient Egyptians and take treasured items to the afterlife?
